The Vermont State Police identified the victim found dead in the waters of Lake Champlain last Friday as Katherine Curley, 74, of Evergreen, Colorado.
The Vermont State Police is investigating the death of a woman whose body was found Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, in Lake Champlain in Charlotte.
The Charlotte Senior Center was built in 2002 and has had various upgrades and modifications. The exterior, however, was starting to look a little shabby over recent years.

The Selectboard approved Nordic Farms 3.0’s permit application for a food truck to operate at its farm stand on Thursdays beginning August 26 and ending October 7. The truck will serve woodfired pizza, the application said.

At first glance, last Saturday’s July 31 activity at the Charlotte Beach appeared understated. The annual town Beach Party was minutes away from starting and anticipation was building.

Vermont State Police were notified Tuesday of stolen property removed from Mount Philo State Park in Charlotte. A wooden informational kiosk constructed by volunteers was cut at the base of the structure and stolen from the intersection of State Park Road and Mount Philo Road.
After an initial period of silence, community members are coming forward in support of Lydia Clemmons and the Clemmons Family Farm, with one notable exception: the town itself.
