The Nature Conservancy owns and manages the 365-acre Raven Ridge Natural Area, spanning the towns of Charlotte, Monkton, and Hinesburg.
Second open work session: Design of the State Park Road section of the Charlotte Town Link Trail
The Charlotte Trails Committee, with Jim Donovan leading the effort, is continuing work on a detailed layout of the portion of the Town Link Trail that lies along State Park Road. The Trails Committee assembled a steering committee with representatives from the Selectboard, the Planning Commission, the Conservation Commission and the Trails Committee, as well as the road commissioner and the tree warden.
Town Link Trail underpass opens for business
About 70 people turned out to enjoy live music, great food, neighborhood camaraderie and the ribbon cutting ceremony at the new underpass under Route 7 on the Charlotte Town Link Trail. Charlotters of all ages arrived by foot and by bike to participate in the grand opening. Laurie Thompson, co-chair of the Trails Committee, Lane Morrison, chair of the Selectboard, and Clark Hinsdale, who initiated the idea of the underpass with the State of Vermont many years ago, all spoke at the ceremony before the ribbon cutting. Several local farms and businesses donated food for the event.
Underpass on Town Link Trail Opens
The Charlotte Trails Committee invites all to attend the Grand Opening Celebration of the Underpass on the Town Link Trail on Saturday, September 8 at 11:00.

There’s been a lot of talk about Charlotte’s Town Link Trail, which will eventually connect Mount Philo with the Charlotte Beach, but did you know that Charlotte has several other well-developed trail systems just waiting to be explored?

The Selectboard is looking for interested citizens to fill the following vacancies:
• Chittenden Solid Waste District Board—representative and alternate representative with terms ending May 31, 2020.
• Trails Committee—three vacancies, one with a term ending in April 2019 and two with terms ending in April 2020.
Triple Town Trail Tour
Saturday morning in January, lots of snow on the ground, time to do the Triple Town Trail XC Ski Tour. Tax season is gearing up, but I’ve got a few hours before heading into the office for the afternoon. I decide to see if I can ski the Town Link Trail, the Pease Mountain Trail and the Plouffe Lane Trail before sitting at my desk for the rest of the day.
