Join us at the Senior Center for a meet and greet with Carolyn Kulik, our new Center director, on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m. Take the opportunity to say hello and share some refreshments.
New sessions of exercise favorites begin next week: Gentle Yoga, Chair Yoga, Tai Chi, Fitness at Any Age, and Pilates. You’ll find schedules and fees in the printed program. As always, you are welcome to come in and try a class to see if it’s the one for you. You can register for classes by calling the Center at 425-6345, by mail at P.O Box 207, Charlotte, VT 05445, or by coming in to sign up in person.
What do you do when there’s a power outage in town? Come to the library! We welcomed over 120 people to the Charlotte Library on Monday, Oct. 30, following the wind storm that swept through town. Telecommuters checked their email side-by-side with students finishing up homework, while LEGO creations and train table time occupied the youngest visitors. Coffee and good cheer were shared by all!
Playgroup: All children 0-5, with a caregiver, are welcome for free play, stories and fun. Please bring a snack and water. Mondays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Charlotte Central School. Follows the school calendar. Email [email protected] for more information.
Tuesdays at 2:15 p.m. through December 19: After School Story Explorations. Take the bus from CCS and explore the world of stories! For kindergarten and 1st grade students. Registration required. No program on November 21 or November 28.
Thursdays at 3:15 p.m. through December 21: Coding Club. Beginners will learn to code with Scratch through guided video lessons to make their own simple games. Members with more experience will plan and create their own using skills they’ve learned. Chromebooks and earbuds provided or BYO. For 4th grade and up. Registration required. No program on November 23.

The library, built 20 years ago and originally designed to hold about 8,000 volumes, now houses a collection of nearly 16,000 items. Space available for providing the increasing number of programs requested and supported by the community is inadequate.

Also coming up is the Better L8 than Never Car Show presented by the Addison County Chamber of Commerce and the Snake Mountain Cruisers on Sept. 24. This will be held at the Bristol Recreation Field in Bristol.
