Scythe mowing workshop this month
Transition Town Charlotte is sponsoring a hands-on workshop on scythe mowing from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Bud Shriner farm at 1503 Ferry Road.
Charlotte Repair Cafe set for Nov. 9
The fifth Charlotte Repair Cafe is happening Saturday, Nov. 9, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Charlotte Congregational Church, 403 Church Hill Rd in Charlotte. The Repair Café is part of Transition Town Charlotte’s mission to build community health by extending the life of material things, keeping items out of the landfill and reducing global warming. Benefits include saving us money, building skill and getting to know our neighbors better.
Woman at War, an Icelandic film to be shown at Senior Center
Transition Town Charlotte is pleased to show Woman at War, an Icelandic film by Benedikt Erlingsson on Thursday, July 25 at 7 p.m. at the Charlotte Senior Center. Popcorn and drinks offered. $5 donation appreciated. Discussion to follow. It was the official selection at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival.
