Church Youth Group Distributes Care Packages On Church Street
On December 17 six members of the junior youth group at the Charlotte Congregational Church packed care packages and distributed them on Church Street in Burlington. The care packages consisted of socks, hats, food and first aid kits. For us, it was an experience to expand our comfort zones and give some love to people who needed it.
HANDS Reaches Out to Older Adults with Annual Holiday Dinner
In collaboration with Age Well, the Burlington School Food Project, the Elks Lodge, and Temple Sinai, among many others, HANDS (Helping and Nurturing Diverse Seniors) is pleased to offer both a delivered meal and a sit-down dinner again this year on Christmas Day.
Surviving the holidays: Breathe deeply
The holiday season is upon us! How will we ever survive the family gatherings, parties, large meals and the ever-dreaded shopping? Relax. There are a few things you can do to survive this short yet stressful period. One, remember that this too shall pass and that you will survive. Cut yourself some slack, and remember that no matter what you are going through someone else is going or has already gone through it as well. If you remember to take time for yourself, breathe and drink plenty of water, I promise you’ll make it.
