Twin-State soccer team rosters include a number of Redhawks
Both men’s and women’s Twin-State soccer teams that are scheduled to play New Hampshire in July were named recently.

Rahn Fleming has taken over the reins of the Champlain Valley Union high school football team after nearly 20 years as junior varsity coach and teacher at the institution (including commencement speaker and parent of two CVU grads, Konner and Ryan, both whom played college football at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn.). Rahn, a California native, attended Dartmouth, graduating in 1981.

CVU lacrosse and tennis attack their seasonsBoth men’s and women’s lacrosse teams opened the 2019 season against Rice. As was their offense last year, scoring was spread among a number of attack and midfielders for the men’s 14-7 win.

Four women who covered the distance in just more than an hour and a half led the fourth annual swim across 3.7 miles of Lake Champlain from the dock at Essex, New York, to the Charlotte town beach. Charlotte’s John Braun was not far behind in an hour and 46 minutes, finishing second among men. The event raised money for the Lake Champlain Committee.

Saturday, May 17, was a special day for the Redhawk baseball team, for the school itself and, particularly, for Storm Rushford, a sophomore who had contributed strongly to the team’s success through his all-around play as a pitcher, hitter and fielder – that is until physical weakness invaded his body and he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia last summer.
