$23K Challenge triples your donation, makes a big difference

What happens when a group of community-minded Charlotters pitches in to make a difference?

We’re gonna find out, because six friends of The Charlotte News have put up $10,000 to challenge you to support independent, public service journalism in our town.

That challenge combined with a grant from NewsMatch means your donation — of any amount — will be tripled today.

Why today?

Because the triple match is a limited time opportunity, and a critical one, at that.

While The Charlotte News is a relatively healthy outfit, there isn’t any surplus money laying around. And keeping our community informed isn’t cheap. We provide a “free” newspaper to everybody in town, every other week at a cost of roughly $150,000 per year, and we’ve got to keep the website humming, too. So, when you donate any amount of money, it really matters to this nonprofit, community newspaper, and of course, it matters that much more when your gift is tripled.

When you make your donation on our secure website, it’s fast and easy and we never, ever sell or share your private information. Plus, the money stays right here in Charlotte. And you really will be making a difference in our town.

If you would prefer to write a check, mail it to P.O. Box 251, Charlotte VT 05445 — and your gift will be tripled.

Many, many thanks to the 250 readers who have made gifts this year. And special thanks to the six friends of The Charlotte News who pulled together this challenge! Show them you appreciate their generosity by making your gift today.

Thanks for your support in this season of giving.
