Restaurant raising

Photo by John Quinney. Things are proceeding at an encouraging pace with the renovation of the old farmhouse at the intersection of Hinesburg Road and Spear Street into a restaurant. The building was lifted to rebuild the foundation and has been lowered back into place. Jonathan Maguire, whose project this is, said the development review board has “been absolutely wonderful to work with” and his project falls squarely in the “win column.” He doesn’t have a commitment from a restaurant to lease the building, but he’s hopeful of working out an agreement with the Farmhouse Group, which includes Guild Tavern in South Burlington and El Cortijo, Pascolo and Farmhouse Tap & Grill in Burlington. He noted that it would be a perfect fit because “the Farmhouse Group doesn’t have a farmhouse restaurant.”
