Repair Café Scheduled
The Spring Repair Café is scheduled for Saturday, April 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Charlotte Congregational Church. Start gathering your articles that need fixing! The café fixers have mended and fixed everything from cuckoo clocks to holey shirts to lamps and electronics. Most popular is getting knives and tools sharpened.
It’s amazing how many talented fixers we have in our little town and how generous they are with their time and skills. In return we ask for a donation to the food shelf. Please register your things needing fixing with Transition Town Charlotte.
We also hope that you will stick around and enjoy lunch and learn some skills from your fixer.
For those of you that don’t know: the Repair Cafe is sponsored by Transition Town Charlotte, a local group of volunteers dedicated to building individual and community resilience in the face of climate change. We focus on local action that helps us all reconnect, share and learn new skills, be informed, and reduce our negative environmental impact. Co-sponsors include the Charlotte Library, the Charlotte Congregational Church and the Charlotte Grange.
If you are interested in being a fixer at the café please contact Jamey Gerlaugh. If you have questions about what you can bring to the cafe to have fixed please contact Wolfger Schneider All other questions: Cathy Hunter.
