February 15 is Vermont Writes Day

The Young Writers project’s (YWP) Annual Day of Writing for just seven minutes is now in its ninth year. Vermont Writes Day is an annual tradition started by Young Writers Project to honor writing and to recognize its importance in school, work and life. Each year, about 100 schools across Vermont take just seven minutes out of their day to write to seven special writing prompts created by Young Writers Project.

Throughout the day, students, teachers and principals will participate in the seven-minute writing exercise. Schools or individual classes may choose any seven minutes during the day, so times will vary. Check with local schools about the timing of their event. Find out more at the Young Writers Project website.
