Over the weekend, I was able to watch a Zoom broadcast of a “Bridging” ceremony for my grandson Guthrie and his Cub Scout den. The ceremony marks the passage of a Webelos Cub Scout to a Boy Scout troop (Scouts BSA).

Not long ago, Melissa O’Brien wrote about having breakfast with the Charlotte Shelburne Hinesburg Rotary. She told of the laughter, the kindness, the attentiveness—all true. Wednesday morning Rotary meetings are a hump-day bright spot during what can often feel like a dark week.
Informational session on Act 143 regulating on-farm businesses
The Monday, February 11, Selectboard agenda focused primarily around a review of Act 143, “an act relating to municipal land use regulation of accessory on-farm businesses and to hemp cultivation.” This included an informational presentation from Zoning Administrator Aaron Brown, discussion from the Selectboard, and input from the public.

Vermont Symphony Orchestra Masterworks featuring Peter Serkin at 7:30 p.m., Flynn Center for the Performing Arts. The VSO’s 84th season opens with VSO Music Director Jaime Laredo leading the VSO in an intensely beautiful work by George Walker, the first African American to win the Pulitzer Prize for Music.
