Rachel Stein, Adele Holock and Deirdre Holmes are excited to be launching the Kids Cook VT summer camp next month. Two one-week camps will run from July 30 to August 3 and then from August 6 to 10. Their hope is to engage about 10 to 12 children each week.

to Coco Eyre who, as a previous contestant on “Chopped Jr.” on the Food Network, was chosen this year to serve on a 10-person panel of judges for the 2018 Junior Iron Chef Vermont competition held on March 17 at the Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Junction. The March 6 Town Meeting at Charlotte Central School was a realtively peaceful gathering this year, with residents fillin the school’s Multi-Purpose Room prepared to discuss the town’s annual report for the upcoming fiscal year. Moderator Charles Russell opened the meeting shortly after nine in the morning, and over the course of several hours town residents proposed and voted on several amendments to the articles which will go to Charlotte voters by way of Australian ballot on April 3.

With five Division I state championships behind them, the CVU women’s basketball team looks forward to keeping the trend alive. They helped their cause with a quarterfinal win over the Bobwhites of BFA-St. Albans last Friday. Catherine Gilwee and Shannon Loiseau led the offense. After being tied at halftime at 16 apiece, the Redhawks pulled away in the second half, outscoring BFA by 10 points in the third quarter and going on to win by 9, 46-37, with Gilwee hitting for the victory margin in the final quarter.
