Please help this newspaper cross fundraising finish line

Our nonprofit, community newspaper is just this close to successfully concluding our Annual Fund campaign.

But as you know, “close” doesn’t really cut it when you’re paying the bills. That’s right, most of our operating expenses are paid by generous readers like you through charitable donations.

When we receive just 20 more gifts by Aug. 31, we’ll reach our $25,000 goal for this campaign.

Your gift — of any amount — could put us over the finish line, so please make your gift right now. Join the 195 readers who have already shown their support with gifts to our Annual Fund campaign.

The Charlotte News keeps us connected and informed, and those who do give tell us they feel they get good value for their money; they take pride in knowing they’ve helped keep this vital Charlotte resource alive and thriving.

But here’s the thing:

• Every gift matters, regardless of the size.

• Every gift helps sustain this feisty little paper (and website) which has informed, educated and enriched the life of our community for 66 years.

• Every gift helps cover the cost for new writers, for paying our small, hard-working staff, and for printing and delivering the paper — “free” to every mailbox in town.

If you’ve already made a donation — thank you.

If you’ve not done so yet, it’s quick and easy to make your gift on our secure website. You can also mail a check to us at P.O. Box 251, Charlotte VT 05445.

Thanks so much for considering this request.

I hope to see you around town.

(John Quinney is a member of the board of directors of The Charlotte News and chair of the fundraising committee.)
