Kwanzaa storytelling program for families

On Sunday, December 19th, the Clemmons Family Farm invites us to join a Kwanzaa Storytelling event via Zoom.

The interactive program introduces participants to African-American traditions and the celebration of Kwanzaa, a festival welcoming the first harvests to the home, created in response to the commercialism of Christmas.

Four storytellers, Glenn Herring and Lydia Diamond from the Vermont African-American/African Diaspora Artist’s Network and Queen Nur and Kunama Ayanwale Mtendaji of the National Association of Black Storytellers, will share delightful stories that nurture fun, kind and caring exchanges. Another Vermonter, Kia’Rae Hanron hosts the program.

At 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the storytelling is designed for children grades pre-kindergarten to grade three and their families. From 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., storytelling is for children grades four to eight and families.
